What exactly are lash extensions?

Heaven on Earth! Lash extensions are natural looking, synthetic lashes that are bonded individually to each natural lash with a pharmaceutical grade adhesive. They blend seamlessly with your natural lashes, adding length, color and thickness. They look and feel natural – only better!

Are they safe?

Lash extensions are perfectly safe, when done properly. At Lash Factory, we are ultra-protective of our clients’ safety and comfort. We use the top-of-the-line products from Xtreme Lashes®, and are certified in their procedures. Our licensed estheticians are committed to your safety and use hospital-grade sanitation standards for every procedure.

I like the idea of lash extensions, but I’m nervous.

Is there pain or discomfort?

None at all. The actual procedure is comfortable and relaxing; in fact, it is so soothing that most of our clients fall asleep!

How long do I plan for the procedure?

You can plan on 1 – 3 hours for the initial application. Touch ups can be done in as little as 30 minutes to an hour. Read More

How long do lash extensions last?

This is what we love about lash extensions! With proper care and maintenance, they’ll stay gorgeous all the time. Touch ups are necessary to keep them looking full. Because they are bonded to each natural lash, eyelash extensions will fall out little by little every week, as the natural lash they are attached to falls out in its regular cycle. We recommend a touch-up every 2 to 4 weeks depending on your after-care and the shedding cycle of your own natural lashes.

Are there things that I should avoid with my lash extensions?

Yes. Lash Factory’s licensed estheticians can provide you with a list to help you remember, but it’s pretty simple:

Keep ‘em high and dry. Avoid water for 48 hours after the extension application to allow time for the bond to secure. This means don’t shower, wash your eyes, or swim for 48 hours. (If you just can’t stay out of the shower, then simply protect your lashes from getting wet.)
Hands off! Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling at your lashes.
Think oil-free. Oil acts as a solvent and will dissolve the adhesive bonding your lashes and their extensions. Use 100% oil-free makeup remover. To curl or not to curl? Avoid mechanical eyelash curlers – you won’t need ‘em anyway!
Stay bonded. Limit your exposure to saunas and steam rooms – they can weaken the adhesive over time.

What about swimming and showering after the 48 hours?

Go ahead, dive in! Lash Factory uses a high quality adhesive that will hold up to water exposure.

Can I wear other makeup with lash extensions?

Sure! Make sure you keep to water-based products though, no waterproof mascara.

What about eyelash curlers?

In general, it’s best to stay away from eyelash curlers. Mechanical or grip curlers pull at your lashes, and that’s a no-no! If you really want to accentuate, you can use a heated eyelash curler.

Why not just use false eyelashes?

Because with lash extensions, you wake up beautiful! Well-done lash extensions look completely natural and stay that way around the clock.

I have no eyelashes. Will lash extensions work for me?
